Never judge people based on their size

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo is a television series that now can be watched on Netflix. It is a South Korean series, about a group of college athletes who are fighting hard in achieving their dreams and entering a top star university with full scholarship.

Kim Bok Joo (Lee Sung Kyung) is a promising female weightlifter who is often looked up to by her fellow weightlifters, as well as being trained especially hard by her coaches as she has that outstanding strength. In order to get into a top university, she trains hard and participates in various competitions to win the prize in order to build up her reputation and image for the scholarship.

Her father runs a small chicken restaurant along with her uncle to sustain the college fees and living. Both Kim Bok Joo and her two other female friends are not popular with any guys in the school as the weightlifting team are known to be aggressive and big, especially big eaters. Hence, the rhythmic gymnastics team are constantly picking and bullying the weightlifting team for being big eaters and ugly.

This series taught their audience to never judge people based on the appearances, and sizes of an individual, as well as love never defines size or age. Despite Kim Bok Joo being on the weightlifting team, she still manages to fell in love with a guy, Jung Joon-Hyung (Nam Joo-Hyuk), a well-body-built swimmer who have history of false start disqualification. Jung Joon-Hyung loves Kim Bok Joo for who she is: cute, friendly, and even determined person.

They both worked and train hard on their own focus to enter to the same university, with encouragement and motivation being given out by their coaches, parents, friends, and one another. But sadly, Kim Bok-Joo entered the university first as she has won first place in the final competition of weightlifting while Jung Joon-Hyung joined her later the following year.

At the end, they graduated together alongside with their friends. It was quite an interesting series to watch as it brings you and your emotions on a roller coaster ride through anger, sadness, and even love through the journey of balancing love and training.

I definitely enjoy this series such that I was so into it and ended up binge-watching the entire series in one week time! If you do watch or even enjoy romance series, then this series would just be right for you!
