High school student Ain Husniza, 17, went viral after making a TikTok video about a teacher who made derogatory comments and rape jokes, which effectively led to several schoolmates threatening her with rape.

Ain’s father made the decision of lodging a police report to show his support for his daughter as according to The Star, he feels “embarrassed and sad” that he is not able to provide a safe schooling experience for his daughter.

Ain has since received much backlash from half of the internet, and support from the other half. The battle to #MakeSchoolASaferPlace is still being heavily debated on social media, though it is unclear why the safety of minors at school should be up for debate at all.
