The January semester for SOHOS (School of Hospitality) was filled with an array of exciting activities by its lecturers and students altogether. The SOHOS lecturers along with INTI Subang’s very own Chief Executive, Dr. Jane participated in a Coffee Cupping Workshop with Barista Experience Academy on the 5th of January 2022.
As part of the training, Michael Tan the cupping trainer from Barista Experience Academy shared his work with an engaging hands-on training, taught a few techniques, and inspired all who were present. After the coffee cupping session, there was a round for questions and answers, where participants had the chance to have a better understanding of coffee and its infinite methods of brewing. At the end of the session, everyone continued to network and enjoy the brewed cuppas.
Throughout the month of February, Hotel Management students from Ms. Eti Farah’s Event Management class brought the SayaSuka kiosk to life with their Suka Coffee Club event. Their operation offered a range of not only mouth-watering F&B deals but also the “Suka Box” which was a gifting service in celebration of Valentine’s Day. All faculty members definitely indulged during the operational days of the event. It was a hit!
The Culinary Arts students have been hard at work as well! In preparation for the 16th edition of Food and Hotel Malaysia (FHM), exhibition and competition at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from 29 March – 1 April 2022, students June Tan Hxiang Ni, Yap Bo Jiun, Hari Harvinder and Lim Yi Shen have been training diligently for the hot cooking category that they will be competing in. It’s been an exciting semester that taught us a lot, left us with new opportunities and offered us exposure to share our work.
