The Alumni Sharing Session was an activity conducted by Mr Mohd Khairul Irwan Mansor for his Principles of Public Relations (COM1105) subject. 37 students participated in this online session. The speaker is Ms Alyssa Francine Sta Maria, a former student of Diploma in Mass Communication and Bachelor in Mass Communication, University of Hertfordshire programmes. She did her internship at a prestigious public relations agency called Arcis Communications and she continued working there after she has completed her studies.
Alyssa shared her experience working at the company by providing the insights into PR world and emphasizing on media relations and event management planning. The students found the session as very informative as they learned about the industry from a practitioner. They were engaged with Alyssa and were asking a lot of questions about the inner workings of PR. It’s good to have an alumna who’s more than willing to collaborate with the school in this meaningful activity. Before the event ended, Alyssa welcomed the students to intern at Arcis and also to have employer project with them in the future.
