MeComm Day in short of Media & Communication Day is an event organized by School of Business and Communication (SBC) and Centre for Australian Degree Programs (CADP) to create awareness to the targeted audiences (Form 4 and Form 5 of IICS partner schools and IICS current Foundation/Pre-U/DMCN students) about the new ecosystem in the media industry in which digitization has changed its overall landscape by engaging them with experts in various lines of work such as broadcasting, marketing and advertising through an interactive forum session. 170 participants attended the event.

The event featured a virtual forum themed ‘The evolution of media industry in Malaysia: What future graduates should know’ which discusses interesting insights among a distinguished line of panelists, on how digitization has changed the media landscape. Mr. Zan Azlee from Fat Bidin Media, Mr. Kenny Lam from Polar Stomps Production and Mr. Andreas M. Vogiatzakis from AMV Plus Sdn. Bhd spoke about skills, challenges and ability to adapt to the constant technological changes which media and communication graduates need to muster to stay relevant in the industry.

The event also featured a content creator/social media influencer who is also our alumna, Selly Gouw who shared her experience and skills set needed as an influencer in the media industry. The highlight of the event is the launch of the new two programmes, Diploma in Digital Media (DDM) and Bachelor of Media and Communication 3+0 in collaboration with Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. The two programmes were launched by Dr Jane Lim.
