By Ms. Gurmit and Ms. Uma – Centre of American Education IICS

In conjunction with WWF-Malaysia’s 50th anniversary, students from the Center for American Education (CAE) at INTI International College Subang took part in the Earth Hour 2022 Pledge for Nature Employer Project which aimed at educating the public about WWF-Malaysia’s conservation efforts. Total of 5 lecturers and 6 classes from CAE were involved in this project.

The students created infographics, posters as well as videos to create awareness about environmental degradation and the importance of environmental conservation. The collaterals were used in various social medias to encourage everyone to switch off lights during Earth Hour and  plant a tree or add a potted plant at their home, school or office.

In addition, the students were expected to add the element of “you” (they, being part of the collaterals), so the students recorded personal videos to greet WWF-Malaysia on their 50th anniversary. The videos were well liked by the Employer.

By taking part in this project, students became aware of environmental issues and how these issues are impacting each of us directly and indirectly daily. In fact, the students were excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with WWF-Malaysia in their quest to save Mother Earth.

All the hard work that the students put in to collect the pledges and garner support did not go in vain. The Center for American Education at INTI International College Subang is proud to announce that the students were successful in collecting 2,247 pledges.

In total, INTI Subang, Penang and Nilai managed to collect about 5,000 pledges, which Ms Suan, the Brand Activation Senior Manager from WWF will publish the results in an article on wwf.org.my in mid May 2022.

The more people pledge to support nature, the stronger the call to make environmental conservation a national priority becomes.

So, let’s pledge for nature, everyone has the power to shape our future.
