The mid of a semester is a tiring time for students, especially when they are not only knee-deep in assignments but also preparing for midterms. As such, AUP INTI International College Penang (AUPEC) hosted a Freshies Night on 24 June to allow students to catch their breath and relax. The party also helped to welcome new intakes and allowed an opportunity for everyone to bond and have fun. With 38 students attending, this was definitely a night no one would soon forget.
The event began at the 6th floor of INTI, where a row of tables and chairs were set up, strings of lights adorned the chairs around the foyer and bathed the scene in a soft, warm glow. The students were divided into teams, where they completed the different games in their groups. The games included picking up marbles with chopsticks, the telephone game, guess what’s in the box, a cup-toss game and the utmost game was a treasure hunt, where students had to find envelopes full of letters of the alphabet around campus and the winner won a RM50 Grab Food voucher.
The night was filled with laughter as students chatted and ate together over a potluck dinner. Each student was then asked to introduce themselves to create more bonding and to end the night, they played a musical chairs game.
The Freshies Night event was successful allowing the students to relax, make new friends and have fun. The friendships formed will surely last a long time and hopefully this night will stay in the minds of our students as a fond memory for the rest of their lives.
