Work hard, play hard seems to be the most fitting description when it comes to the students and lecturers of SOHOS Subang. A faculty-level telematch supervised by senior lecturer, Kartina Abu Bakar brought everyone together for an afternoon of friendly competition and activities! The strategy games definitely got everyone’s problem solving on high gear. The session ended with the prize-giving ceremony and the ever customary “makan-makan” session at Alkira restaurant.

On the topic of competitions, new and old students along with the lecturers got crafty and participated in various competition categories in the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agro-Tourism (MAHA) Exhibition 2022 and Mini Hilton Cup 2022.

For MAHA 2022, Chef Haslina Hussein bagged the Bronze medal for the Cake Display Category and all the Diploma in Culinary Arts students who participated in the Malaysia Fine Dining category managed to each bring home a medal as well! Muhammad Qayyim, Lim Yi Shen and June Tan Hxiang Ni brought home Bronze, whereas Yap Bo Jun and Lian Jie proudly won Silver medals each!

The icing on the cake however has to be when semester 1 Diploma in Culinary Arts students, Kannan A/L G. Gunathevan and Tan Li Xin who were guided by Pastry Chef Hanafi, emerged as Champions for the Sweet & Savoury Canapes category in the Mini Hilton Cup 2022. This goes to show that no one is limited from creating their craft in SOHOS Subang, be it old or new students, and even lecturers! Congratulations once again to all medal recipients!
