The January Welcoming Party was held on 31 January at Multi Purpose Hall (PMH) to give a warm welcome to the new January intakes from both CAL and CFSI.
The event officially began at 6pm with an opening speech from HoS Dinash Kandasamy, followed by the president of the Pre-U Society Doreen to introduce the Pre-U Society and to welcome all new joiners.
Domino’s pizzas and soft drinks were served as refreshments, along with various candies for dessert. The participants enjoyed their dinner while chatting with each other. Soon after dinner, the participants were divided into teams for station games. In celebration of Chinese New Year, participants were given mandarin oranges and challenged to eat them within two minutes to gain bonus points for their game.
Several games were played, including “Angpao Hunt,” in which participants had to search for angpaos hidden in various locations around the campus. Finding the angpaos gave their teams extra points and an opportunity to explore the campus.
Other station games such as Tipsy-Daisy, Memory 21, Family Feud (Chinese New Year traditions trivia) and Flippin’ Out were also played. Goodie bags were awarded as prizes to the winning team with the highest point accumulated from the station games.
A total of 30 students from January 2023 intake attended this event. The school would like to acknowledge the organizing team of pre-U students led by Koh Wai Kei for their time and effort in making this event a successful one for the new intake. Bravo!
