Chinese Cultural Society of INTI International College Subang (IICS) launched Chinese New Year festival “One for all” on 18th February, an annual charity festival which celebrates Chinese New Year festival, to promote the importance of family and the different varieties/dialects of Chinese language based on the sub-communities as well as to provide awareness on societal issues where items will be given to Subang Jaya Municipal Council for bedridden patients in line with the Chinese culture and custom of giving and helping the needy.
Hosted by DJ Ms. Aki Chan from MYFM, the opening event consists of performances by lion dances from, various dance performances which showcase Chinese traditional and modern dances.
Also present at the event was Ms. Belle Yu Tian, a Malaysian artist who had won various international awards and accolades who started her career in 2012. She sang at the event with her own composition titled Bring Me Away for the film Paper Moon which captivates the audiences.
Mr. Gaston Pong, a local singer, songwriter debuted in 2019 as a Malaysian singer-songwriter, composer, producer, as well as a Malaysian influencer who recently hit one million followers on Tik Tok with his series of YouTube videos showcasing him singing in a different language. In 2021, his rendition of “Ring Ring Ring” (originally performed by S.H.E) has been played 1.9 billion times on the DouYin app itself which he sang during the event.
The event concluded with a flashmob sequence from the Chinese Cultural Society, IICS. The event was open to public and was attended by various clubs and societies from various universities such as UTAR, Pusat Bahasa UKM, UNITEN, UTM, MMU, Sunway University, and University of Nottingham.
