On Saturday, 8 April 2023, INTI College Sabah (ICS) Charity Club organized a hiking event at Bukit Botak, Sepanggar. This was the first hike of the semester for two staff and fourteen students. They came physically and mentally prepared. Hiking is familiar to some of them, as they hike hills with family and friends, so they know how to prepare themselves in order to spend some quality time in nature.

A very proud moment to reach at the top.

Mr. Fernendez Yap, the Student Services Department officer, demonstrated the warmed-up exercises at 6.30 am. The temperature was cool, and it got warmer around noon. Everyone was very energetic. Some of them brought walking sticks or long umbrellas to assist them tackle some challenging paths.

Students warm up before starting the hike.

The trail was in good condition. There were no negative environmental factors which troubled their journey. Although not everyone reached the peak, the rest of them were determined to complete the hike for one hour to view the beautiful sunrise and the beauties and bounties of nature.

To conquer the highest point of Bukit Botak, you must be determined.

The group photo showed that they enjoyed the entire nature clothed in green to their heart’s content.
