In a resounding display of compassion and determination, the H2O 4U Carnival orchestrated an extraordinary achievement for INTI International College Penang. Led by project manager Zakiah Abul Khassim and over 300 students taking the Mata Pelajaran Umum (MPU) subjects, this remarkable event ignited a path of hope and transformation for communities in need of clean water.

The carnival aimed to fulfil the UN Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG6) by providing clean water and sanitation to countries in need. Collaborating with Global Ehsan Relief Malaysia, the event’s proceeds held the power to create life-altering change in places like Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Nepal.

Esteemed guests, including Penang Island City Council’s Corporate and Community Management Department director, Mr. Muhammad Muashraf, IICP Chief Executive Ms. Hemalatha Murugiah, Academic Director Mr. Tan Lee Ooi, and the Global Ehsan Relief Malaysia team, added prestige to the carnival.

As the event unfolded, the vibrant student marketplace became a bustling hub of creativity and determination. Each stall, meticulously curated and operated by the students, became a testament to their unwavering commitment, embodying the spirit of unity and community service. Visitors were treated to an array of mouthwatering dishes representing various cultures. The enticing aromas and flavours united people through the universal language of food. The carnival also hosted stalls selling crafts and merchandise.

Mr. Muhammad Muashraf acknowledged the students’ impact and applauded their strategic collaboration and unwavering teamwork. Ms. Hemalatha commended the students for their exceptional achievement, recognising their global consciousness and social responsibility. She expressed gratitude for their unwavering commitment, and their dedication to collecting funds for clean water showcased their potential as a catalyst for transformation.

The H2O 4U Carnival set an ambitious target of RM10,000, and the cheque handling ceremony, scheduled for July, will further demonstrate the students’ dedication, and ensure their impact reverberates long after the event concludes. Through the convergence of knowledge, entrepreneurship, and a shared vision for change, the H2O 4U Carnival is a remarkable achievement, and will be etched in history as a testament to the power of compassion and the unwavering determination of tomorrow’s leaders.
