The Kaamatan and Hari Raya buffet bash took place on 7 June at the Multi-purpose Hall at INTI College Sabah, jointly organized by the 28th INTIMA and the students from Group 1 of MPU2432 Co-Curriculum.
The celebration started with a welcoming speech by the President of the 28th INTIMA, Azmeer Zaini. According to Azmeer, he hoped that the celebration would strengthen the relationships between students and staff of INTI College Sabah, and at the same time, create awareness on Kaamatan and Hari Raya celebrations. After his speech, the Performing Arts Club started with busking performances by their own talented performers, Diana Nicole and Kevin Kishan, who are both Diploma in Business programme students. They serenaded the guests with Sayang Kinabalu, Mansau, Original Sabahan and Hey… Aramaiti. A Kpop dance recital led by David Joshua, performed “Unforgiven” and “Let’s kill this love” with their members, Yapp Mei Fung, Adeline Chin, and Rebecca Choo.
The Outfit of The Day (OOTD) Catwalk session featured the diverse traditional clothes worn by the students and staff. These traditional clothes were the ethnic KadazanDusun from different districts, colourful baju kurung moden of different patterns, and the authentic baju Melayu. The winners of the OOTD were Hassan Ali Dad and Diana Nicole for the student category, and Ms. Veronita Teo, a staff from the Office of Admissions and Records, won the staff category.
The 28th INTIMA did not let any chance of a dance slip by, they presented the Kadazandusun Sumazau dance accompanied by the Penampang Gong rhythmic instrumental song.
The celebration ended with an open group dance to the popular line dance poco-poco. Both students and staff joined in making this celebration an event to remember for a long time until we meet again next year.
